Lasker, Albert

(1880-1952)
   American advertiser. He was a member of a Texan family prominent in Jewish affairs. He worked as a journalist and later as an advertising executive with the Chicago agency of Lord and Thomas. He pioneered the techniques of successful copywriting. He was chairman of the US Shipping Board (1921-3), and reorganized the merchant marine.
